Jackton Downard serves as the Director of Finance for Cure Blindness Project. In this role he is tasked with supporting the organization’s growth objectives through budget management, process development, data crunching and coordinating Cure Blindness Project’s volunteer doctors.
Downard has worked for over over 17 years as a sales & marketing professional in the outdoor recreation industry where he was responsible for multi-million dollar distribution channels. His work building brands, developing domestic and international partnerships and consulting with companies on strategic growth and organizational management provides the foundation for his work with the Himalayan Cataract Project.
Born in the UK, raised in the mid-west, educated on the west coast and having worked in many of the Pacific Rim, European, and South American countries, Downard is the consummate global citizen. He holds a BS in Biology from the University of Oregon and an MBA in Sustainable Business from Pinchot University / Bainbridge Graduate Institute.
Downard lives in the Upper Valley region of the Connecticut River and works out of Cure Blindness Project’s operations office in Norwich, VT. When he is not in the office you can find him in a canoe with his two kids, in the mountains on skis, hanging off the side of a cliff, or touring the New England landscape on his Triumph.
