Brendan Callahan serves as the Program Manager focused primarily on Cure Blindness Project's initiatives in Sub-Saharan Africa. In this role, he supports programmatic activities with local implementing partners, maintains relationships with partners globally, supports grant management activities, and facilitates program design and administration.
Prior to joining Cure Blindness Project, Brendan lived and worked extensively throughout East Africa—beginning as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Ethiopia and then remaining in the region to support the implementation and expansion of programs with the One Acre Fund in Kenya, Ethiopia, and Tanzania. Prior to joining the Peace Corps, Brendan earned his B.S. from the University of New Hampshire majoring in Environmental and Resource Economics and minoring in Conservation Studies.
Brendan lives in Burlington and works out of Cure Blindness Project's Waterbury office. When he is not in the office, you can find him on a paddle board, bike, or skis, depending on the season.
