A Miracle of Sight: Aheza Begum’s Story
“I couldn’t even recognize my husband’s face. I would cry and pray, ‘Will I be blind forever?’”
45-year-old Aheza Begum from Lalmonirhat, Bangladesh lost vision in her left eye due to cataract. With no children and a husband who depends on her, daily life became heartbreaking.
“I couldn’t cook properly, clean the house, or see who was talking to me. At meals, I’d miss food on my own plate.”
Then she heard an announcement: a free outreach camp organized by Quasem Foundation and supported by Cure Blindness Project.
Nervous but hopeful, she went in. “I prayed to Allah for one thing—let me see again.”
And then, the moment arrived.

“After surgery, I opened my eyes and saw my husband’s face clearly. I laughed and cried—it felt like a dream.”
Today, Aheza can manage her home again, recognize her neighbors, and live with dignity.
“I thank god and the doctors for this miracle. I tell everyone now—don’t ignore your eyes. Go get help.”
