Michael Richards, MD, Assistant Professor, Department of Ophthalmology, Division of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Duke University.
Dr. Michael Richards graduated from Stanford University and earned his MD with honors from Boston University. He completed his internship and ophthalmology residency at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, where he also served as chief resident. Dr. Richards completed a fellowship in Ophthalmic Plastic Surgery at the Duke Eye Center, Duke University and joined the Duke Eye Center faculty as an assistant professor in 2006.
Dr. Richards has hosted a number of Ethiopian oculoplastics observers at Duke University and traveled numerous times to Ethiopia to continue hands-on surgical training. He was also a visiting professor to the Tilganga Institute of Ophthalmology, Kathmandu, Nepal where he has given lectures and proctored examinations.
