Join HCP and Johnson and Johnson Vision to #spotlightsight

Oct 31, 2018 | news |

Take a photo, make an impact. For every photo you share through the Donate a Photo app, Johnson & Johnson gives $1 USD to HCP, with goal of helping to provide sight-restoring surgery for 1,000 people

The Himalayan Cataract Project (HCP) and Johnson & Johnson Vision, a broad-based global leader in eye health, have launched a worldwide campaign to #spotlightsight. Launched on World Sight Day (WSD) Oct. 11, this call-to-action was created to raise awareness of the importance of eye health and support the global humanitarian efforts of HCP and Lions Clubs International Foundation’s (LCIF), Sight for Kids program.

Johnson & Johnson Vision will donate one dollar for every photo posted through the Donate a Photo app to one of the two signature initiatives that preserve and restore sight. Ultimately, the program aims to provide 1,000 people with a 10-minute life changing cataract surgery and 100,000 children with eye health education and access to vision screenings. Participants can post up to one photo per day using the free Johnson & Johnson Donate a Photo app. Each cause will appear in the app until it reaches its goal, or the donation period ends on December 31, 2018. Users without smartphones or who are outside the U.S. can also demonstrate their commitment to eye health by posting their photos and commenting using #spotlightsight on Facebook and Twitter.
