HCP Selected as 2020 HVA Beneficiary

Jan 30, 2020 | news |

Himalayan Cataract Project (HCP) is honored to be selected again in 2020 as a Healthy Vision Association beneficiary. We would like to thank Healthy Vision Association’s members and leadership for their continued support in helping eliminate needless blindness in underserved areas around the world. HVA’s sustaining sponsorship has contributed a total of $90,000, representing the material cost of 3,600 sight-restoring surgeries. Our partners and patients have come to rely on this generous support and its amazing impact.

Since 2004, Healthy Vision Association (HVA) has been dedicated to helping its members gain better access to vision care products, services, and information that promote vision and overall health. For an annual fee, members receive several consumer discounts, including access to VSP Vision Care. Available nationwide in all but four states (OR, NY, FL, and WA), VSP is the leading provider of vision benefits, covering more than 64 million Americans.

HVA supports healthy vision around the world, supporting qualified organizations whose mission is related to helping people’s vision and health. A portion of members’ annual fees go to sponsoring over 20 vision and health-related charities that align best with the purpose of the Healthy Vision Association.

“On behalf of the numerous members of Healthy Vision Association (HVA), it is our sincere pleasure to partner with the Himalayan Cataract Project. HVA is proud to contribute to the incredible work they are doing and hope to continue to support their sight-restoring work around the world.” – HVA President Rich Schindehette

Additionally, HVA awards up to 20 scholarships of $2,500 each to students who are attending optometry schools in the United States and meet the criteria listed on their website.
