Gearing Up for World Sight Day 2019

news | Sep 30, 2019

Himalayan Cataract Project is gearing up for World Sight Day, one of the biggest days of the year to draw attention to blindness and vision impairment.

World Sight Day is the most important advocacy event on the eye health calendar. Globally, 217 million people have moderate to severe vision impairment and 37 million people are blind. 1.2 billion people don’t have access to glasses. Over 3 out of 4–>75%–of the world’s vision-impaired are avoidably so.

HCP’s mission is to cure needless blindness with the highest quality care at the lowest cost. Stay tuned next month as we chronicle the many World Sight Day activities and initiatives taking place in our country programs and with corporate partners the week of October 10th!
