First Female Head of Department Named at Menelik II Hospital

Congratulations to Dr. Menen Ayalew Shibeshi on being named the first female head of the Ophthalmology Department at Menelik II Hospital.
Dr. Menen is a long-time HCP partner and currently serves as head of the Ethiopia Eye Bank. She is recognized as one of the country’s leading cornea surgeons and has performed dozens of corneal transplants in Ethiopia.
As department head, Dr. Menen will be leading Ethiopia’s largest tertiary ophthalmic referral hospital as well as the country’s oldest residency training program.
